PLAY: for better or for worse?

« PLAY : for better or for worse ? » is a body of work comprised of multisensory interactive sculptures and installations that explore the notion of play:  past and present.  Past generations explored the woods, built treefort, played cord games.  Today, screens are the playing fields of our youth and their cords are connected to playstations and computers.  I am interested in how different generations interpret play : For better or for worse.  Audiences and artists need to play, create, and share mutual experiences in order to keep one’s art and vision young. I cultivate curiosity through a material’s transformation, playing with my medium, which leads to unconventional forms and experiences. I consider the sensual experience, soliciting our senses, and always infuse a sense of play.
